CLAW

"A bruising, beautiful, and disorienting journey—equal parts catharsis and confrontation. For those willing to dive deep, this is one of the most essential experimental electronic releases of the year." -Jace Media Music

"If you’ve ever had any passing interests in Coil or Lustmord, then this – wonderfully ugly as it can be – will be for you." -Real Gone

Claw begins uneasy, as atmospheric sound design builds with increasing tension. Swells of warm dread are interrupted by cutting guitar while slight rhythms evolve with hints of pads and barely-audible percussive elements. Soon, the arrangement contorts into a bad trip of screeching synths, deconstructed techno, and full-on blast beats.

While fans of KPT will recognize a few of his signature motifs scattered throughout, Claw demonstrates the artist's continued turn toward analog and organic workflows as he employs more live instrumentation throughout. Like much of KPT's best material — as well as the cinematic oeuvre that inspires it — Claw rewards patience and repeated visits.

Minneapolis-based KPT initially performed Claw during a live set in 2023, and honed the sounds in between work on his forthcoming diptych Never, Forever; Nothing, Completely as well as remixes for artists such as En Esch and Mona Mur.

Own, stream, and share Claw now on both CD and digital before the artist's planned two-part offering later this year.

ON YOUR KNEES

A choral hymn establishes "On Your Knees" from Minneapolis-based KPT, and from that sparse origin the tune grows into a cryptic, grandiose, and hypnotic layered production across the 7-minute plus epic.

The second single reveal in a forthcoming diptych of releases exploring the psychosexual and power dynamics, KPT is joined by Dallas-based deathpop artist lcn1, who in addition to assisting with production makes good on the theme by dishing sultry whispered and provocative vocals throughout.

Steadily coagulating into an aggressive and absorbing decree, "On Your Knees" crescendos with cutting synths, percussion, and scathing guitar work from JQ Lexvold (of Organ Discordance) into a crunching and clacking industrial machine.

Attend the dark mass of KPT's "On Your Knees" featuring lcn1 now and prepare for Never, Forever; Nothing, Completely.
